MacSim Guard
- Pull Starter Leak Shield
ATV riders know that your recoil starter
doesn't work when it's packed with mud and water. Mud enters the engine via
the crankshaft seal damaging your engine and causing hundreds if not over a
thousand dollars worth of damage to your engine.

Hardware
Above is a display model
using a 350 Rancher rear crankcase cover with a MacSim Guard installed. The
model has been filled with green-colored water to show how well it seals.
As the water is sealed
within this model; water, mud and sand would be sealed out with the MacSim
Guard properly installed on your ATV.

Installing the MacSim Guard:
Remove
your recoil starter and discard.
Remove
original starter pulley. Retain original pulley bolt and o-ring. If you do
not know what your recoil pulley is, STOP and let your local ATV technician
do this for you.
Make
sure surface is clean and then replace original starter pulley with modified
pulley provided in MacSim Guard Kit using original pulley bolt and o-ring.
Install
MacSim Guard with top bolt inserted just enough to prepare guard for next
step.
Gently
move MacSim Guard away from engine at the bottom in order to place plug in
weep hole. Be sure to align properly.
While
holding plug in place, position MacSim Guard against engine.
Hold
guard while installing the remaining bolts.
Hand
tighten to secure plug in place.
Tighten
evenly to 7ft lbs. of torque.
*Do not use any kind of power tools on shield
bolts. |
