Electronics, Inc. has now created the most advanced Personal locator Beacons
(PLBs) on the market. The TerraFix™
is easily stored in backpacks, waist packs or a jacket pocket, and at a mere
12 ounces this is the smallest and lightest Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) on
the market.
All
ACR PLBs send a personalized signal to satellites in orbit telling
Search and Rescue who you are, where you are, and that you are in a life
threatening emergency situation, in a little as 5 minutes and within 100
meters. ACR's exclusive FastACQ™
GPS technology AND a waterproof, external GPS optical interface, gives the
user unparalleled versatility. These PLBs can ia a hand-held GPS (GPs
I and I/O models), using the optical interface OR using the on board,
internal GPS (gps I/O model) built right into the PLB.
All
AC PLBs are made to EXCEED the rigorous testing standards of COSPAS-SARSAT,
FCC, NOAA and the U.S. Air Force Rescue Coordination Center for durability,
waterproof, high visibility and extreme operating temperatures at a minimum
of 24 hours at -20°C (longer at warmer ambient temperatures). Comes
complete with a 5-year Lithium battery and a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
